Can You Beat the Recession?
It seems where ever we look these days we see the fatal word "The Recession" everywhere we go. But has this leaked into the internet world too? Are we also plagued and driven to reduce our rates to accommodate the recession? Well, here are a few reasons how we can all beat the recession online, even just as individuals.
1. Regular clients. You should always have a database of regular clients who commission you for work on a regular basis. These clients will be reliable, dependable and instantly ensure you do not suffer form an recession side effects. Any regular client should have their own economic stability so if they start demanding less money because of the recession REFUSE THEM. Just because they want to save a few pennies doesn't mean your work takes any less time, effort or somehow you have devised a way of living that requires less money than now.
2. There have always been people offering freelancing services for minimal rates. Not everyone values high quality work above price, you don't need to feel threatened by this. That is their choice, and there are still plenty of people willing and able to pay the right price for freelancing work.
3. Your examples will show prospective clients what your work is worth. You don't need to reduce your rates or offer discounts because the client moans at you about money being tight. Th client can pay in installments, or simply save up until they can afford the work. If you don't have the money, you shouldn't be asking for the work.
